Real estate websites have come a long way in a relatively short period of time. Even still, there is one common issue that seems to be completely hit or miss and that is the photographs provided.
It seems as though some properties have clear pictures showing everything of importance. Others have dark, blurry pictures that don’t make anything clear at all. There are a few reasons why having good photography is key for real estate.
Not Misleading Buyers
With bad photos, potential buyers are going to feel one of two things. Either they are going to feel like they are being misinformed when they view the pictures, which will make them not want to see the property in person, or they will feel that the pictures were misrepresentative of what the place is actually like when they see it in person.
In either case, it doesn’t do a good job of building trust with the buyer. When a buyer feels like they are being duped or someone is trying to take advantage of them, the game is over. They will likely move on to another property or service.
Shows Everything
When buying a home or renting an apartment, it is crucial for the buyer or renter to know what they are getting into. That is partially because most buyers have a checklist of things that they want out of a property and don’t want to waste time with something that doesn’t work.
Clear, accurate photos give them a better idea of what to expect. It also means less time wasted for both buyer and agent not having to see properties that don’t fit the needs of the buyer.
Better Representation
When pictures are clear and shot in the right way, it can accentuate the property without being misleading. The job of the agent is to make the property look as good as possible when posting to a real estate website.
Having better pictures gives the buyer a better feeling about the property from the jump, which can lead to a better tour overall. But it all starts by taking great pictures to start and setting the tone with the buyer from the beginning.
