Most of us have no doubt heard of the benefits of investing in real estate. But if you are looking to change up your career, there are many options within the world of real estate that are worth looking into. But where do you start? Here are four jobs in particular that are worth taking a look at whether you are looking to change careers or get going on a new path.

  1. Managing Broker

Being a broker and a real estate agent are not the same, though the terms tend to be interchangeable. The difference here is that a broker has further education and can manage real estate offices that have multiple agents. The broker role requires extensive training and education, as well as certifications to achieve. Still, it is a potentially lucrative position when you manage to put in all the necessary work.

  1. Commercial Real Estate Agent

If you have a passion for real estate but don’t necessarily have the money to become an investor or broker, becoming a real estate agent may be the next most likely step. The agents handle research on properties and help clients and businesses to choose secure locations that eventually boost their bottom line. The process is slightly different than residential real estate, so know the differences beforehand.

  1. Real Estate Investor

Whether an active or passive investor, real estate remains a potentially lucrative avenue for those looking to make a change. Rental income or “flipping” properties have become two of the more popular options and provide a chance to make serious coin along the way. Make sure to do your homework before picking an investment; not everyone succeeds in the real estate investing world.

  1. Appraiser

Appraisers collect information on a given property, assigning a valuation to that property. Appraisers, both residential and commercial, can work privately or through a firm depending on their interest and experience. Appraisers require extensive training and certification but can become a valuable part of real estate transactions, too.
